The delegates of the 60th General Assembly of the World Federation of International Music Competitions visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorila Complex on June 18. They have been at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, put the flowers as symbols of remembrance of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Executive director of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, Glen Kwok came to Yerevan for the first time. He was absolutely impressed of what he saw in the Genocide Museum. “The museum was so thrilling and the architecture here is breathtaking”.
While speaking about the General Assembly held in Yerevan, Glen Kwok noted the brilliant organization of the event. “I send my appreciation to all the organizers for such a qualified hospitality. We discussed so many questions and issues during the assembly. Specialists from various countries had an opportunity to share their experience and knowledge with each other”.
Executive and artistic director of the Concours Musical International de Montréal Christine Le Blanc shared her gratitude towards the Aram Khachaturian International Competition. She’s heard about this competition quite a lot. “I’m glad to see that there’s such a perfect youth orchestra in Armenia. Tell you the truth I was even surprised to see such a highly qualified youth orchestra. The concert dedicated to the jubilee General Assembly of the World Federation of International Music Competitions was stunning. The orchestra and its conductor Sergey Smbatyan were absolutely fantastic”.
Worth mentioning that the 60th General Assembly of the World Federation of International Music Competitions was held in Armenia from June 15 to 18 in Yerevan. It was organized under the high patronage of the Spouse of the President of RA, Rita Sargsyan, by an invitation of the Organizational Committee of the Aram Khachaturian International Competition and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of RA. More than 40 executives, artistic directors and representatives of the prestigious competitions came to Yerevan to attend the assembly.
